do cats eat ice cream…

i love our cat, Chance The Rapper.

he’s awesome… 95% of the time.

unless the doorbell rings and he tries to make a run at it.  he’s supposed to be an indoor cat but just doesn’t know it yet.

poor guy.

so, today, the doorbell rings.

two of mason’s cute little girl “friends” (sure) were here at our house to deliver on a bet they had a camp.  i can only imagine what that means.

ice cream.

ben and jerrys.

the name was “pfish food”.

and look at how excited our cat was.

sorry CTR, it’s for mason when he gets home.

thanks girls.

he will love it.

oh, and i might have to try a spoonful just to make sure it’s not poisonous… haha.

happy tuesday.

seattle seahawks day…

the day started out with these 3 boys.

seattle seahawks. spring training. 2015.

brooke had to stay back since she was helping out at the church vacation bible study with the little kids.  love her generosity and love for kids.  we missed her.  especially me.  i truly did need her to hang out with me while the boys acted like 10 year olds…. yes all 4 of them.  like kids in a candy store.  football does that to the male species you know!

greg just couldn’t resist joining them.

yes, i had to stay back and take the photo.

where is the “male” review team.  chippendales should do something for training day with the seahawks.

my opinion for what it’s worth.

i think i’ll mention that to my friend that works there for next year.  i’m sure she will agree with me.

all i wanted was a photo with me in it to prove i went.

i got one.

in my tight tshirt (as this morning i noticed all of my seahawks gear is winter attire) with rolled up sleeves.  oh how i miss my 20 year old arms…haha.

we sat on the hill while mason and his buddies walked around looking for autographs…

… and the cheerleaders again.

oh, by the way, greg hates selfies.  and i love them.  so, i got one shot.  that was it.  negotiations saved for later in the day when it came to picking a lunch spot.

what a great day!

happy monday.

best banana bread. ever…

well, at least according to my family.

and it’s not just because i sprinkled mini chocolate chips on top.

our bananas on the counter seem to turn real brown real fast.  it’s the heat.  so why not bake a little BB with them.

1/2 c. shortening

1 c. sugar

2 eggs

3 ripe bananas, mashed

3 Tblsp. buttermilk

1 tsp. baking soda

2 c. flour

1/2 c. chopped walnuts

M&M’s or mini chocolate chips

preheat oven to 325.  cream shortening and sugar.  add eggs, then bananas and buttermilk.  add soda and flour and mix well.  stir in nuts.  ok, i like nuts.  my kids say NO nuts.  but they will take M&M’s.  Pour into greased loaf pan and bake 45 min to 1 hour. or if you are using muffin cups, they only take 30 minutes.

i love the Simply Baked muffin cups.  i order them online at  or I buy them at our local ACE store in gig harbor (awesome selection of fun home goods).  soooooo cute!

i’ve even seen banana bread made with mini resses pb cups folded in…. i’m trying that next time!

happy wednesday.

thanks to the beach, i am refreshed and renewed…

it’s amazing what one weekend at the beach will do for your soul.

or at least my soul.

it just makes everything better.

i want this sweatshirt for my next beach outing.

and this surfboard.

and i will wear this cap.

because it looks like my next beach day might just be in CA in 5 weeks when i take brookie down to college.

so, i’d better buy this cute bag and get packing!

until then, i’d better get some of this BEACH scent and take it all in.

happy tuesday.

i can’t wait for tomorrow…

greg will be back from his 30th HS reunion.

mason will be on his way to Young Life camp.

brooke said she would go with us.  yep, leave her guy and her friends for a day or two.  that’s big!  trust me.

the 3 of us to the beach we go… and will bring happy thoughts of mason with us.

can’t wait.

it’s been one looooooong week alone this past week.  kids out and about and greg gone.  i’m looking forward to someone to talk to.  the cat just “meow’s”.  hope they are ready for some wife conversations over iced apple crown royal and light cranberry juice… and mom conversations over smores.  cuz that’s all i have packed.  oh, and a swim suit and two air mattresses to float on (i get one and they have to fight over the other).  yay for tomorrow.

happy saturday.
