words for us all to live by.
thanks for letting brooke wear your clothes on the runway last month, oscar. you would have been proud of her.
cheers to being the designer of our own destiny!
i can’t wait!
venice beach is our plan for saturday. she chose it over disneyland. that’s my girl!!
she’s out with her friends and her man tonight.
saying goodbye (until her next visit home in december).
we had dinner out. she gave us one hour for pizza. and two of her grandparents joined us. last minute. we took it.
now packing and pouring a cocktail and hopping in bed for big brother on tv.
can’t wait to share her life adventures this year (if she will let me).
and happy thursday.
best photo i could get. in my pajamas. outside. with neighbors driving by.
freshman. in high school. today.
and yes, he lost a bet… so he had to wear this shirt.
you might recognize it from big brother last season. we all laughed at it on tv. then mason found it at our local good will. are you kidding me? no. he did. and he bought it. and he wore it the first day of high school. a new high school. where he only knew 10 people.
but he knew he was going to love this day. he asked brooke to drive him to school. in her convertible. just the two of them. explaining i could have the morning for coffee…. um, helllllllooooo…… I love driving the first day of school… you are my babies!!! i don’t mind. i love it. but i knew they thought they were doing me a huge favor.
so i sat at home. coffee in hand. good morning America on tv. and it was all right. they were ok. i was ok. it would all be ok.
oh, forgot to mention i met 3 of my friends for bloody marys for lunch. that made it better. for sure.
gotta love these kids of ours.
you rock mason and brooke!
just a short time ago…
she wore tap shoes whenever she could, wore bikinis to the dinner table, filled her room with dolls and teddy bears, crawled into our bed during the night with her purple puppy and her green blankie, watched hours of mary kate & ashley movies, begged to bake cookies (and eat the raw dough… and we let her), took rolls and rolls of photos of her barbies and laughed (and agreed) with everything we said (oh, her laugh… that amazing laugh).
the plane tickets are purchased (i splurged and got us the fancy seats one leg of the trip… shhh, don’t tell her). the hotel is booked (yep, got free unlimited wifi and a pool waiting outside). trying to find a convertible just for fun (that’s on tomorrow’s agenda). her room and clothes were shipped yesterday (hope UPS gets it there on time). and looked at the weather report… sunshine ahead!
brooke is out all day with her boyfriend in seattle. bittersweet goodbyes. then on to SMG (her agency) to bring them fresh baked monster cookies and give them all a hug and get her list of los angeles agencies they want her to see.
she has asked to take mason to school tomorrow. just the two of them. in her convertible. with the top down (um, i hope it quits raining). it’s his first day of high school. they agreed i could take the mom-favorite-first-day-of-school photo and they would smile.
she grew up.
right before our eyes.
and we couldn’t be more proud and happy for her. for both of our kids.
we did well, greg. FFFF.
