st. patrick’s day is for “leftovers”, not green mushy food…


so, yesterday everyone was talking about how amazing their st. patrick’s day dinners were…

corned beef.  potatoes.  cabbage.  heavy beer.  green butter.  soda bread.  green dressing.  salad with only green in it.

not our family.

after one lacrosse game, one baseball practice and an out of town husband who showed up at the last minute (and asked what’s for dinner… haha),  i surprised them with this…

teriyaki takeout for greg and mason.

waffles with peanut butter and syrup for brooke.

and vanilla yogurt and granola for me.  i would have had a glass of wine too, but we were out.

that’s how we roll.

sometimes it’s about emptying out the refrig and freezer… and what you are craving.

especially during double sports seasons.

we all sat together.

in front of the tv.

and chatted and laughed about the yucky dinners everyone else was having.
